about artist
Nirit Takele (b. 1985, Ethiopia) is a contemporary figurative painter whose work explores identity, memory, and cultural belonging.
Having immigrated to Israel during Operation Solomon, she draws on personal and collective histories, expressed through bold color and sculptural figuration.
Takele’s paintings have been exhibited internationally, including at Zeitz MOCAA and leading institutions and galleries across the globe.
Her work is held in major collections, including the Israel Museum and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, as well as in significant private and corporate collections.
