This painting criticizes the idea of the glass ceiling - an invisible barrier that limits minorities in society whether a woman among men, a 'black' person in a predominantly 'white' society, or any person in a minority, achievements are often treated differently simply because equality was never the starting point.

Through its title, the painting rejects the very idea of the glass ceiling and challenges the social structures that enforce inequality. It asks why a barrier that should not exist in the first place needs to be broken. If there were true equality, there would be no glass ceiling. The artist emphasizes that society must change its perception, refusing to accept this imposed limitation. Born as a free soul, rejecting the enslaving mentality that the concept represents.

In the composition, the glass is depicted as a small, transparent nest placed at the edge of the painting. This deliberate placement diminishes its significance, symbolizing the artist's belief that it has no real power.
